I just got an advance copy of my upcoming picture book, Stellarphant! βοΈππ
Hereβs the blurb:
Heroes come in all shapes, sizes and species.
Stella wants to be an astronaut. There is only one problem: Stella is an elephant.
Every time she applies to Space Command, they come up with a new reason she canβt join. But where thereβs a will, thereβs a way and Stella is determined to reach for the stars.
Does she have the right stuff?
Iβm so happy with how this book turned out. Huge thanks to my editor Cate Sutherland, and all the team at Fremantle Press. And how lucky was I to have the brilliant Rebecca Mills as designer on this?!
Stellarphant comes out in November.
(P.S. some of you may remember I made a comic serial for the School Magazine back in 2019, also called Stellarphant; it featured Sally Tinker and her crew taking an elephant into space. This book has the same title but a different plot. This picture book idea actually came first, but it never quite came together, so I used the title for the comic instead. Then the book idea clicked! Murphyβs Law of publishing.)
