Stellarphant shortlisted for Picture Book of the Year

I got some fantastic news today.

My latest picture book, Stellarphant, is on the shortlist for the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Picture Book of the Year! ⭐️🐘🚀

Congrats to all the other shortlistees. I’m honoured that my book is in such wonderful company.

And I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my book with heaps more kids around Australia.

I had a lot of help along the way. So I want to say thank you to …

my wonderful editor at Fremantle Press, Cate Sutherland, and to the whole team – Claire, Chloe, Cathy, Jane – you’re all superstars. It’s so good to know you have my back.

to my co-designer Rebecca Mills for your expert knowledge and mad skills.

to the CBCA – to the judges, the boards and all the vollies who keep the organisation running. Heroes all.

to the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for the grant that helped me work on the book!

to my SCBWIs – the best support network a writer could ever ask for – especially my brains trust of Briony, Karen, Sam. You rock.

And an extra special enormous thanks to my wife Renae, for all your support and encouragement (and for helping me figure out Stella’s costume design!) ❤️ I couldn’t do this without you.

Bring on Book Week!

Buy my new book, Stellarphant
